I feel like I say "fuck" too much, but no other word seems to be appropriate...

Okay, I'm having a seriously "all people are fucking morons" day today...

I wonder if it's always been like this, or if it's a recent occurrence. Over the past century we have made some pretty amazing leaps in science and technology, so I'd like to think that people haven't always been this blindingly stupid, but the truth is I really don't know. I have a strong suspicion that the stupid is catching and it's getting worse. I know that the kids I've seen graduating lately have been dumber than normal, and seem to be proud of it.

Seriously, it hasn't been that long since I've been in school, but I remember when kids used to get held back in school if they didn't learn enough to get through. Now teachers can't hold kids back because schools are overcrowded, and there's no money, and no teachers, etc., etc... Not to mention the fact that parents today suck! I have never seen a group of people more disrespectful, lazy, arrogant, and who think that everyone owes them something, than kids today. Which, I know, makes me sound kinda like a cranky old geezer, but it's true! I have younger siblings, and they are not even able to look people in the eye, or maintain a normal conversation because they have absolutely no social skills because they've grown up being connected to either a TV, telephone, or computer. The next generation will be the downfall of our society, I'm sure of it...

I wonder if reality TV is the culprit, or just a side effect of this migration towards brainlessness. It all seemed to happen around the same time. Today anyone can be famous for doing something completely moronic and getting it caught on camera. Or people are famous for being rich and dumb. I think it's more the culprit... that and Will Ferrell movies... Fucking idiot.

October is FID month!!

Is it Fucking Idiot Driver month and nobody remembered to tell me? Because I didn't get the memo, but it seems like everyone else did. For the past few weeks everywhere I go people are either not paying attention, or they are morons who don't know the rules of the road. A quick refresher course for some of you:

-if you are sitting at a light waiting to turn left, on a street that is one lane in either direction, if the oncoming car is also turning left YOU CAN BOTH TURN AT THE SAME TIME! If you both sit there and wait for the other person to go first, guess what? You'll be sitting there for a long time.

-If you are at a stop light and turning right, and the cross traffic has a green left turn arrow, you can turn right while they are turning left. It's really okay, those cars on the other side of the street are not going to plow through the turning traffic just to hit your car while you turn.

-Oh, and my personal favorite, if you are on a major street at 7:45 in the morning, do not stop at every intersection and let the cars that are waiting go ahead of you! I understand you think you're being nice and letting them in so they don't have to wait, but all you're really doing is slowing the flow of traffic and making everyone behind you late.

And not only are there morons who don't seem to know the rules of the road, but there are more people out there who are just not paying attention. I can't even count the number of times I have watched the idiot in front of me slowly coast into the oncoming lane or into the shoulder of the road, just to jerk their car back into the driving lane when they realize that they were wandering.

Why are cops, or oncoming semi-trucks, never around when you need them?

Fucking Bug

There is a bug flying around my living room, and it's been here for days. I should either kill it or shoo it outside (it's big enough I'd probably have to really put my shoulder into it to get it to budge), but instead I just let it fly around my living room light and I bitch about it.

That's what this blog is for. Not for the bug, but a place for me to bitch where nobody knows who I am, nobody is listening. Maybe it will get some of this noise out of my head if I can put it to "paper". Maybe it will make me feel better to think that someone might read this someday and agree with me. Or maybe disagree and argue with me. I love a good debate. But I can't be the only person out there who is convinced that pretty much everyone else is a complete fucking idiot.

Maybe I'm an idiot as well, I did just mention that nobody is listening and hope that somebody was all in the same paragraph...

On a good note, I think one of my dogs may have eaten the bug. Finally.
